Local Shakespeare consultant & director Mary Coy collaborates with Betty Tabony and the 6th grade Language Arts teachers each year to bring a Shakespeare play alive for the students. Teams of up to seven children will present their solutions to one of six challenges representing technical design and construction, fine arts, science, improvisational acting, structural engineering, and community service. Although it is a competition, the program focuses more on team building activities that help kids develop lifelong abilities like collaboration, courtesy and valuing diversity. It is a program that encourages out-of-the-box thinking, teaching children that there are many ways to approach and solve problems.
